If you can master these questions, then you’re well on your way to overcoming intermediate algebra. For other uses, see Definition:Isomorphism. But for more advanced applications, this type of algebra - which I call 'arithmetic algebra' to distinguish it from other kinds of algebra - is too simplistic and crude, and so different kinds of algebra, with additional rules and structure, are required. It could be the case that I am not a total stranger to the field.

Economies of scale are more easily realized the bigger the redesign project is. Again, students have been brought from visualization to analysis. All groups are monoids, and all monoids are semigroups. If you are going to get a degree in mathematics, you should definitely learn abstract algebra. Usually, students in high school or elementary will be the first ones who will experience this subject. We give a rigorous treatment of the fundamentals of abstract algebra with numerous examples to illustrate the concepts.

As my interest is really CS, are there any materials available now (online drafts, lecture notes, videos, books) that cover abstract algebra from the point of view of applications in CS and in particularly algorithms/theory? For an another example, when there are two clock times for the onset of sleep ‘t1 = 21 (/24 hrs)’ and ‘t2 = 19.5 (/24 hrs)’, the operator part is determined as ‘t(1→2) (/24 hrs) = t2 - t1 (/24 hrs) = 19.5 - 21 (/24 hrs) = -1.5 (/24 hrs) = 24 -1.5 (/24 hrs) = 22.5 (/24 hrs)’.
